Building Effective Training Systems Within Organizations
摘要
The success of training systems relies on teams of individuals interconnected with shared goals working together to achieve desired outcomes. Training needs must be identified to: (1) ensure resources are properly allocated; (2) teams work together to identify target content and build training programs that fit the needs and constraints of the organization; (3) progress is tracked and refined; and (4) everyone works together to ensure there is demonstrable learning and the skills trained transfer to consistent use on the job in a way that adds value to the individual, the client, and the organization. A behavior-analytic approach involves setting people up for success with the proper use of antecedents and ensuring systems of accountability and support with the proper use of consequences. The purpose of this chapter is to show how, when done at all applicable levels of the organization, a behavior-analytic approach to training can help any organization get the type of culture change that truly maximizes the impact of its training programs.
