Individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder deserve to receive the highest quality intervention possible. High-quality behavior analytic intervention involves the use of clinical judgment. The purpose of this chapter is to: (a) describe/define clinical judgment; (b) provide a brief overview of the research demonstrating the effectiveness of clinical judgment; and (c) describe effective methods to train interventionists to use clinical judgment when implementing behavior analytic procedures.
