Smart homes are a new topic that has attracted everyone’s attention. Sustainable energy production is of great importance for society today. Smart buildings are practical systems for integrating renewable energy sources, such as wind turbines, solar panels, and geothermal systems. By using this technique, an important step can be taken toward achieving sustainable energy. Smart cities are a good solution that helps create a more sustainable environment and optimal energy use. In other words, the devices inside a house, such as lighting, curtains, heating systems, and so on, are controlled remotely and in collaboration with each other, which is made possible through an internet connection. For example, the heating or cooling system can be adjusted manually or automatically to the desired value. Smart systems enable people to manage and minimize their energy consumption at home more effectively. These systems can control loads remotely by using sensors and smart devices to achieve predetermined goals. Of course, the main goal of this chapter is to investigate the impact of smart energy management. One of the most important discussions that play an essential role in energy management is renewable energy sources, including solar energy. Also another critical topic in smartization is load response. In this method, the amount of electricity consumed is intelligently controlled during daytime hours allowing for management of consumption to reduce costs during peak times.
