This article describes the design and implementation of a data warehouse that provides indicators on patient care for a network of public health centers in a Latin American country. The aim of this work is to provide a platform to support the decision-making of strategic users responsible for managing this healthcare network. Additionally, it validates a new methodology that combines different approaches, techniques, tools, and methodologies, such as information requirements specification, relational database modeling, and a combined development process based on the Kimball and Hephaestus methodologies. This process also incorporates a validation phase of indicators and integrated, interactive visualizations for the multidimensional analysis of the obtained indicators. Regarding the results obtained with the implementation of this data warehouse, it is noteworthy that the institution in charge of managing the health centers now has a platform that allows them to analyze the average rates of appointments and patient care, as well as the costs associated with these appointments, among other indicators. This enables them to more clearly identify health centers prone to patient care collapse and take preventive measures to avoid it. From the perspective of the data warehousing process development, the team responsible for it confirms the simplicity and effectiveness of the new methodological proposal.
