Designing a Minimum Viable Blockchain Ecosystem for Forest Asset Management: A Case for Colombia

A minimum viable ecosystem (MVE) is an ecosystem that allows participants to meet a more complex future ecosystem with the least effort, considering three crucial aspects of blockchain adoption: breadth, scale, and standards, which is a key step for the advancement of blockchain in each sector. This paper presents the design of a blockchain MVE for forest asset management following the methodology proposed by the World Economic Forum based on five steps. The presented methodology is deployed for a case study related to the commercialization of climate assets describing the value proposition, participants, system model, governance, future steps, and the preliminary model of an IT architecture supporting the MVE.
