The final chapter explores ways to foster practices by men beyond the gender binary and beyond gender. It outlines the implications of the theoretical framework advanced earlier for the politics and practices of engaging men in personal transformation and promotion of a more peaceful and socially just world. Such practices will require participation by men in transforming their subjectivities and engaging in collective practices in the public sphere. Deleuze and Guattari’s (A Thousand Plateaus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia (B. Massumi, Trans.). Bloomsbury Academic, 1987/2020) notions of deterritorialisation, becoming, lines of flight, nomad, molecular practices, rhyzomes and affect are used to explore the micropolitics of unbecoming men. While such practices occur at the micropolitical levels of society, the chapter also explores how such practices can inform collective and public resistance against the macropolitical levels of patriarchy and the gender binary.

摘要
