Introduction to the Key Features of Quantitative Research
摘要
A systematic examination that focuses on measuring connections, behaviours, events, and patterns in data is what we mean when we talk about quantitative research. The testing of hypotheses, the measurement of variables, and the development of statistical models that generalise results from a sample to a population are all common applications of this technique. The positivist paradigm, which is the foundation of this method, is based on the assumption that reality is objective and can be seen, measured, and quantified. The beginning of quantitative research is the formulation of a research question or hypothesis that is unambiguous and succinct, and which can be verified by the accumulation of numerical data. In quantitative research, some of the most important traits are objective measurement, large sample numbers, organised data collecting, statistical analysis, replicability, and generalisability. The presence of these features guarantees that the conclusions are based on objective facts rather than on the subjective judgements of the researchers.
