This study validates the importance of Chinese Peranakan Terengganu Malaysia houses in Kampung Tirok through examining their distinctive architectural design adjustments to suit the climate conditions of the region. The main objective was to explore the design concepts and cultural assimilation values that form these characteristics. Qualitative observations and interviews were utilized in this study. Observations and interviews were carried out with architecture experts and owners of Peranakan houses to delve into the importance of these design modifications and how they contribute to a cozy living space. A study revealed that the traditional Chinese Peranakan traditional houses are designed considering natural airflow and temperature variations in addition, to cultural adjustments. In regions with humid climates like Mrs. Yee Choo Ims home area where houses are built on stilts and have open front and back yards with specific window designs and latticework ventilation vents to allow air flow effectively while maintaining a cool interior temperature. Designed deep pitched roofs along with lower and upper roof ventilation systems also contribute to this cooling effect. The study emphasized the beauty of these design elements in terms of adaptation.
