This paper will delve into the impact that an intervention, such as the KED.POL satirical art installation has on its visiting audience in terms of understanding and political engagement. The methodological setup, a mixed design of surveys together with qualitative interviews, shall explore how the satirical elements in art influence an understanding of political themes. They indeed raise engagement and understanding through funny and interactive components, and even more reflection on social issues is identified. The paper contributes to the discussion of the role of art in political education and gives some concrete advice on how satirists, teachers, and officials should work with satire so that it can help increase political awareness and the development of critical thinking.
