The study investigates the practices, challenges, and prospective cultural resource protection and care directions in Kelantan, Malaysia. It identifies five critical components: the involvement of young people, support for digital preservation, legal frameworks, and community involvement. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of environmentally sustainable tourism practices. This study highlights the importance of institutional support in ensuring the long-term sustainability of community-led initiatives using secondary data derived from academic literature, government papers, non-governmental organization reports, and international guidelines. There is a solid legal basis for protecting cultural assets, but there are many challenges to putting this plan into action. Heritage tourism offers considerable economic prospects; however, it also confronts the dangers of commodification. Its future is based on increasing audiences for heritage, especially for those in younger age groups, but this needs a radical rethink of existing practices if it is to survive. Other recommendations from the study include providing a central heritage fund, improving community training and involvement, strengthening heritage legislation and its enforcement, widening digital skills in preservation methods, and implementing sustainable tourism. This means the participation of youth is a crucial element in safeguarding heritage for the future.
