A Comparative Analysis of the Culture and Heritage Elements: Cases of Homestay Program and Kampung-Stay Program
摘要
Homestays refer to lodging arrangements in which tourists reside with host families. In contrast, Kampung stays enable tourists to stay in traditional dwellings without the presence of the host family, providing cultural experiences independently. Both initiatives generate employment prospects for rural areas and offer tourists distinctive lodging choices. This study employs qualitative methodologies to analyze and contrast the evolution of the homestay and Kampung Stay programs. The study revealed that homestays prioritize cultural and lifestyle experiences, whereas Kampung stays provide fundamental facilities and opportunities to experience village life. Variations in promotional tactics encompass the utilization of internet platforms and partnerships. This paper emphasizes these rural tourism projects’ unique characteristics and strategies for providing exceptional tourist experiences.
