The purpose of this study is to explore the financial planning among university student with the particular emphasizing on their capability to plan the personal financial during their academic session at the university. Even they are engaged in higher education, many students show their worrying on lacking of financial knowledge which are very essential for financial decision making and future financial stability. In this study, the findings from the informant interviews are well summarized. Data was gathered using the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) technique while the Nominal Group Technique (NGT) has been used to analyzed the findings of the study. A total of 10 key informants have participated in this study to explore the problems, challenges and solutions to overcome the issues. By considering the aspects that influencing the financial planning, the policymakers and stakeholders can work together in focusing to increase the financial planning awareness among university students. The results of this study are expected to come out with the best method for financial education programs tailored to the requirements of university students, eventually contributing to their long-term financial security and encourage them to make the best decision for their financial planning.
