The purpose of this study to explore the financial planning literacy on retirement of government employees in Malaysia. Even their significant contributions focusing on public sectors, government employees often show the lack of knowledge about the essential of financial concepts that are important for retirement planning. In this study, the findings from the informant interviews are well summarized. Data was gathered using the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) technique while the Nominal Group Technique (NGT) has been used to analyzed the findings of the study. A total of 10 key informants have participated in this study. The main components of study focusing on budgeting, investments retirement benefits, budgeting, investments, social security, tax implications and long-term care planning. By considering the aspects that influencing the readiness of retirement, the policymakers and stakeholders can work together in focusing to increase the financial planning literacy among government employees. The results of this study are predicted to enlighten the best method for financial education programs tailored to the requirements of government employees, eventually contributing to their long-term financial security and ensuring a dignified retirement for those dedicated to public services in Malaysia.
