From Security to Uncertainty: How Job Loss Impacts Employee Well-Being
摘要
This study assesses the multiple effects of employment loss on employee well-being, with a particular emphasis on the psychological, financial, and social dimensions. It is imperative for both organizations and policymakers to comprehend the consequences of job loss in light of the escalating unemployment rates and economic uncertainty. The study utilizes a meta-analytic methodology to consolidate the results of numerous empirical studies, thereby offering a thorough examination of the subject matter. The research indicates that job loss has a substantial impact on the well-being of employees, resulting in increased psychological distress, financial burden, and reduced social support. The results also underscore the significance of adaptive coping mechanisms and the moderating function of social support in reducing these adverse effects. The study concludes by underscoring the necessity of targeted interventions, including financial assistance programs and mental health support, to mitigate the detrimental effects of employment loss on employee well-being. These insights are a valuable addition to the broader literature on employment and well-being, as they provide practical implications for policymakers and organizational leaders in the development of effective support systems for affected employees.
