Integrating Waqf with Malaysia’s tourist and hospitality sector would provide a favorable opportunity to attain sustainable growth and safeguard Islamic cultural heritage. The integration process is highly effective in facilitating Malaysia's sustainable attainment of economic growth while simultaneously upholding its Islamic principles. Implementing Waqf-based models, such as Halal hotels and environmentally friendly tourism projects, would augment Malaysia's tourism industry’s attractiveness and positively contribute to the community’s welfare and the preservation of their cultural heritage. Adopting innovative approaches such as Waqf-based tourist towns, crowdfunded Waqf projects, and Green Waqf can establish Malaysia as a leading participant in the Halal and eco-tourism industries, congruent with economic progress and Islamic ideals. The methodology section in a conceptual paper, targeted for a Scopus-indexed publication, typically discusses the approach toward developing the theoretical framework and the literature review method to garner appropriate insights. Since this paper will discuss the integration of Waqf activities into the tourism industry from a conceptual point of view, its methodology will concentrate on a theoretical discussion and literature-based research. This also creates an excellent interface with the integration of Waqf into eco-tourism and heritage preservation projects as part of global sustainability goals following Islamic social justice principles, further enhancing Malaysia’s tourist appeal. Future research should concentrate on conducting an empirical study on the long-term economic impact of Waqf tourism.
