Exploration of Materials and Techniques in the Production of INTRANS
摘要
This study introduces INTRANS, an acronym for Interactive Transformation Sculpture, as a novel branding concept in Fine Arts. Although branding within sculpture remains largely unexplored, this research aims to define a distinct and cohesive style inspired by transformative art, particularly the works of Tomoo Yamaji, who has been creating transformation sculptures influenced by pop culture and mechatronics since 2009. Rooted in empirical knowledge and infused with traditional Malaysian aesthetics, the study employs Self-Critical Reflection, Studio Experiments, and Contextual Studies. The studio experiments yield promising outcomes, positioning INTRANS as a pioneering style in sculpture with the potential to shape both contemporary and future artistic trends.
