This chapter provides an understanding of territorial resistance from a social work perspective, as an emotional dimension, considering the narratives of those affected by the planning or implementation of hydroelectric projects in Chile and Colombia. This issue emerged in Latin America in the 1990s as a new social problem for the discipline, given the increasing inequalities resulting from the neoliberal model. This is because there is a direct connection between the impact of economic growth on people’s lives and the work of social workers in defending human rights, promoting welfare, and encouraging social participation.
