For years, the Indonesian English Language Teaching (ELT) curriculum has relied heavily on a genre-based approach, emphasizing standardized text structures and rigid linguistic frameworks. As a counterpoint to this long-standing methodology, multisensory computer-assisted language learning (CALL) offers a dynamic alternative, focusing on engaging multiple sensory channels—auditory, visual, and kinesthetic—to foster deeper cognitive and emotional connections in language learning. This chapter explores the methodological frameworks behind two pioneering studies in Multisensory CALL conducted at Indonesian research universities: a blended learning approach implemented by Sudimantara (2021) in Cirebon and a fully online model developed by Baehaqi (2023) in Palangkaraya. In examining these studies, we highlight how the Multisensory CALL framework challenges and expands upon the genre-based norms, adapting to resource constraints while promoting richer language acquisition experiences. By comparing these two delivery modes, the chapter aims to illuminate how blended and fully online frameworks impact accessibility, engagement, and pedagogical outcomes in the Indonesian context. Through this comparative analysis, we aim to unpack the distinct methodologies of each study, drawing out both unique and shared strategies to underscore the transformative potential of Multisensory-CALL in reshaping English Language (ELT) practices.

摘要
