‘Loitering with Intent’: The Philosophy, Politics, and Practice of Prison Ethnography
摘要
This chapter focuses on the methodological approach. It not only explores how an ethnographic approach and sensibility can be particularly effective when understanding harmful and illicit behaviour, but also discusses the inherent challenges and politics of ethnographic research. It details how qualitative interviews were conducted and integrated into the ethnographic research. In so doing, the chapter considers the ethical complexities of research on illicit or harmful behaviour and the moral orientations that underpinned this research.
