Teaching new skills represents a major pedagogical challenge for teachers, as it plays a decisive role not only in students’ academic success, but also in their preparation for professional life. Soft skills therefore take second place to hard skills, but take the upper hand when they are well developed, both professionally and educationally. With this in mind, reinforcing a developed skill through an innovation such as gamification could fill this gap, especially if it can be customized to the needs of each individual student. The integration of adaptive gamification is an important application in educational settings to stimulate engagement in learning and the acquisition of soft skills. This article discusses the implementation of adaptive gamification for the design of a curriculum capable of fostering the acquisition of soft skills. Extrapolating current work on adaptive learning strategies and gamification, the following study attempts to examine how individualized game-based learning activities can better address the diverse characteristics of learner intelligence and preferences to increase engagement and motivation. The gamification elements proposed include assessing students’ perception of the subject, identifying their learning styles, designing the learning experience and analyzing the game elements appropriate to their learning style. The results discussed demonstrate a significant improvement in learners’ soft skills, engagement and critical thinking through the implementation of adaptive gamification in their learning path, results which clearly imply that gamification is a means of enhancing learning performance by promoting an individualized and inclusive educational experience. Although the study highlighted the potential of gamification to improve learning outcomes, further research is needed to explore optimal strategies and long-term effects. Overall, gamification has emerged as a promising approach to promoting effective learning and skills development.

摘要
