Measure of Coolness on the Blind User Experience
摘要
Recently, coolness has become one aspect observed during an interactive project. Despite the valuable contributions to date, the concept of coolness is still not well defined and established. In this sense, there is a need to elaborate a more comprehensive definition of the term coolness and demand for the creation of instruments that can determine how cool an interface is for blind people. In this context, the present work proposes a conceptualization of coolness for websites and applications, through nine characteristics: innovation, desirability, utility, sensation, accessibility, independence, usability, connection and identity. Based on these nine characteristics, a questionnaire, to evaluate how cool a website or application is for the blind, was created and validated qualitatively and quantitatively. Thus, this research contributes to an integrated and broad view of the concept of coolness in websites and applications and provides a new instrument to measure coolness in the experience of blind users.
