Requirements engineering (RE) involves identifying, analyzing, documenting, validating and managing user needs and expectations, as well as the constraints that the software must satisfy. In RE, the existence of assertive communication is of great relevance, facilitating effective interaction between all parties involved (development team and client/user). The absence of assertive communication can lead to misinterpretation of requirements, resulting in incorrect implementations or unsatisfactory functionalities that can generate conflicts and deviations from the scope of the project, increasing costs and delivery times. To avoid this, it is essential to establish strategies to improve communication in the RE. One of these strategies is shared understanding, which refers to a state in which all parties involved in a team have a common understanding of a specific topic. Shared understanding in RE allows for a unified understanding of requirements, helping to mitigate ambiguity and reduce frequent changes in software requirements. However, achieving shared understanding is complex, due to the absence of explicit integration of elements that allow its construction in RE. This paper presents a proposal focused on the creation of a guide to support the construction of shared understanding in RE activities. As a preview of the work, part of the execution of a systematic mapping of the literature is shown, where proposals and techniques to support the construction of shared understanding were identified.
