Exploring Accessibility: The First Interaction of Visually Impaired Users with the UNAD Virtual Campus
摘要
The main objective of this project is to carry out an accessibility assessment of the interaction of users with visual impairments on the virtual campus of the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD). This evaluation will provide, for the first time, a detailed understanding of how users with visual impairments interact, with the aim of identifying opportunities for improvement that will promote inclusive and comprehensive education. The project was developed using an evaluation methodology that included interviews with real users with visual impairments to observe their interaction experiences and gather valuable feedback. In addition, an inspection evaluation was carried out without the direct participation of users. This methodology includes a heuristic evaluation based on different usability principles proposed by different authors, as well as the preparation of an accessibility report according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). The results of this evaluation provided various relevant comments on the effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction and usability of the platform. In this way, it is expected that this research will guide the implementation of improvements to ensure an inclusive and accessible learning experience.
