A Study on Stress Management Techniques and Workforce Sustainability Among IndianOil Refinery Employees in Assam

One of the major challenges that modern organizations face is relieving and mitigating employee stress. The labour environment is changing rapidly due to the shifting global order, which puts an unsustainable amount of strain on the workforce. As technology advances, workers must keep up with new developments to maintain their positions in a competitive market. They also need to provide high-quality work and possess relevant skills. In order to manage the stress and anxiety that employees experience, it is crucial for both organizations and individuals to adopt suitable stress management practices. According to Nekzada and Tekeste [27], it is important to stress causes and its management at the work place-A qualitative study on the causes of stress and management mechanisms at Volvo Trucks AB, Umea. Employees have a significant amount of self-control when it comes to managing their stress levels. They use different strategies and approaches to handle their emotions effectively. This study aims to analyse the different coping mechanisms that employees at Indian Oil refineries in Assam use to manage their stress. Personnel from executive and non-executive categories of three Indian Oil refineries in Assam were surveyed using stratified random sampling to collect relevant data for the study. The study highlights the pertinence of considering the demographic characteristics of the respondents while choosing a stress-reduction technique. If not managed properly, employee stress can have negative effects on their physical and mental health, job satisfaction, and job performance.
