Expansion of the Area of Jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Constantinople
摘要
Based on the dating of the notitia 3 to c. 870–880 and on the information it provides, the chapter illuminates the extension of the jurisdictional area of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, as a consequence of the great successes of Byzantine ecclesiastical policy of the 860-ies and 870-ies, besides Bulgaria, to the areas to the North of the Black Sea among the Khazars and the Russians, Cyprus, Dalmatia and Croatia, and its effects.
