Conversion of the Bulgarians

During Constantine’s stay in Moravia, the Byzantine authorities organized and conducted the mission of the Christianization of the Bulgarians, the Bulgarian Prince Boris was baptized in 864 and the Byzantine missionaries were active in Bulgaria in 864–867, under spiritual guidance of the Patriarch Photius, who sent the Bulgarian ruler a famous epistle in which he explained the basics of the Christian faith, as well as the task of a Christian ruler.
