Psychological involvement for individuals with bladder exstrophy-epispadias complex (BEEC) is becoming more well-known in the field of urology and can change throughout development due to the complexity of the diagnosis over time. This chapter focuses on each stage of development with medical and mental health challenges and how psychological support can be useful at any age. The caregiver of the child with BEEC can be as involved as necessary, and most of the work considers the individual differences of the child and family. Future directions include continuing to gather information on how to be more helpful to each child and family with BEEC as medical management continues to improve and expand.
