This study explores the capabilities of digital forensics to retrieve evidence from social media platforms on Android devices, specifically focusing on three popular platforms: TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. A thorough methodology for offline and online data collection and examination is employed to ensure data integrity by acquiring a raw disk image. Analyzing the retrieved data uncovers the potential to obtain various artifacts of user interaction such as chat logs, private messages, photos, and other forms of media. This research sets the stage for leveraging digital forensics methods in investigations involving social media interactions while underscoring their significance. The paper offers valuable insights to Android forensics professionals by showcasing not only what can be recovered but also the breadth of data accessible from these platforms.
