An analysis of the content and energy spectra of cosmic radiation has been carried out. The possibility of using water for protons with energies up to several hundred MeV has been analysed. The interaction of high-energy protons with water was simulated using the Monte Carlo method. It has been found that the spacecraft wall, consisting of a 200 mm thick layer of water (ice) between two 3 mm thick aluminium sheets, can effectively absorb fast protons with energies up to 170 MeV, which corresponds to about 97% of the total flux.
