Efficacy of Carrier-Mediated Salt-Tolerant Bacteria in Plant Growth Promotion
摘要
The climate around us has been changing continuously that made stability in the agricultural environment way more difficult resulting in the generation of no. of environmental stresses including salinity. The following chapter deals with the significance of plant defenses against salinity stress including both hormonal defense as well as enzymatic defense. The defense systems in plants are not strong enough to cope alone with stress so there is a need for some kind of assistance for plants that help them to mitigate salt stress. This chapter further highlights the significance of rhizobacterial application along with carrier material to enhance the wheat growth parameters under salt stress conditions. Rhizobacteria are proven to be a promising strategy because of their ability to cope with salinity stress of a diverse range from 100 to 800 mM alone and along with a wide range of organic carriers that add up the fertility of the soil and provide a medium for these bacteria to be applied feasibly in fields as well.
