Understanding the concept of Soil-Plant-Atmosphere Continuum (SPAC) for integrated movement of nutrient, water and energy from the soil body through plants to the atmosphere is very critical. This perennial flow, driven by soil water potential, plant transpiration, and atmospheric measure and demands, presides the key physiological phenomena essential for crop growth and development. In plant growth and production, optimizing nutrient transport, water uptake and plant stress tolerance is proficiently affected by SPAC that has great impact over crop yield. Furthermore, addressing SPAC dynamics will help to acknowledge the challenges related to soil degradation, water scarcity, climate change and will also provide a substructure for developing sustainable agricultural practices. This chapter provides a survey of qualitative study regarding the detailed overview of SPAC, improving the sustainability, crop productivity, resource use efficiency and dealing with the challenges regarding the environmental stresses.
