Italy, Greece, and Near Eastern Affairs from Sèvres to Lausanne
摘要
This chapter examines the priorities set by Italian foreign policy regarding the settlement of Near Eastern affairs between the signing of the Treaties of Sèvres (10 August 1920) and Lausanne (24 July 1923). Italy was not at all favorable to Greek expansion in Asia Minor as this development was not perceived as beneficial for their own interests. During the Lausanne Peace Conference, Italy concentrated on safeguarding its sovereignty over the Dodecanese Islands and securing a privileged position with regard to the development of relations with Kemalist Turkey.
