摘要
Disruptive Education a foremost outcome of the virtual and online education in the contemporary scenario drastically shifted teaching learning to remote mode. Educational institutions radically transformed their ways of service provision from direct teaching to online teaching. Both digital natives and digital immigrants were involved in this process and expected to access and deliver information online. This drastic transformation in the teaching-learning process demands augmented reality-enabled teaching methodologies as an alternative pedagogy of teaching that suits modern learners. Augmented Reality (AR) contributes to developing a generation of citizens influenced by technology. Augmented Reality brings together the real world with similar computer-generated elements artificially. The mixture of real and virtual information provides a novel learning experience that positively influences learners. This article discusses the avenues of augmented reality in increasing intrinsic motivation among the students along with the opportunities provided to explore related information at their own pace facilitating them to construct their knowledge. AR allows educators to introduce novel and innovative teaching approaches and procedures in the classroom through customized AR tools. It also addresses competency-based education and the personalized learning needs of learners.
