The verification procedure includes the printing and transportation of documents, resulting in the use of paper. Additionally, manual verification is an exhausting task, and transportation contributes to the release of air pollutants and carbon emissions. Traditional verification procedures are sometimes time-consuming and need several administrative actions. The energy consumption in administrative offices has increased, resulting in longer processing times and the consequent extended utilization of resources. Therefore, IoT and Blockchain-based digital verification have the potential to revolutionize the process. The incorporation of IoT devices with Blockchain technology gives a sturdy solution for improving data integrity and verification of Certification in the Education sector [1]. This research examines the application of blockchain in storing data from IoT devices, with a particular emphasis on the verification of students’ data and certificates to prevent fraud. To speed up the verification procedure, which is required for job applications and studying abroad. For Verifying academic credentials, the decentralised and unchangeable nature of Blockchain guarantees that students’ data is reliable. This digital verification process contributes to sustainable development goals as this method also reduces the reliability of paper-based data verification [4]. The results of this research suggest that the integration of blockchain technology into educational verification systems has the potential to improve the efficacy of administrative processes, combat deception, and promote environmentally beneficial practices. This research underscores the potential of Digital Innovation, which is facilitated by Blockchain and IoT, to achieve the sustainable development objective of a critical educational documentation verification process.
