Blockchain-Powered Solar Synergy: Advancing Morocco’s Renewable Energy Vision
摘要
Morocco is the first African country to adopt solar energy, but it faces challenges in optimizing solar resources due to prediction inaccuracies and inefficiencies. This paper has the objective to discuss the potential of blockchain technology to make a game change in solar energy prediction in Morocco. This paper presents the results of analyses of blockchain in enhancing data integrity for solar radiation forecasting and enabling secure peer-to-peer energy trading that can improve grid integration of renewable sources. The paper considers the technical, regulatory, and socio-economic reflections on the implementation of blockchain solutions in the solar sector of Morocco. Morocco can avail itself of blockchain’s transparency and security features to surmount the current barriers to its solar energy management in support of ambitious renewable energy goals. The study presents a conceptual framework of blockchain integration in solar energy systems and recommends further research and pilot projects. The proposed approach can significantly contribute to achieving Morocco’s vision of being a regional leader in sustainable energy.
