Deformity in the Characters of the Novel “Frankenstein in Baghdad” by Ahmed Saadawi: A Model Analysis Using Artificial Intelligence Techniques
摘要
This research investigates the concept of deformity of the novel Frankenstein in Baghdad, a book by Ahmed Saadawi, by analyzing traditional and experimental modern text with the help of Artificial Intelligence. The study relies on the results produced by Natural Language Processing and Sentiment Analysis and, first, those tools help to recognize the literary pattern and the symbols of deformity. The research shows how deformity conveys the meaning into the novel, providing a conceptual embodiment of the greater process of collapse that goes beyond mere physical wounds. Second, the analysis also displays to what extent AI tools could reveal patterns and emotions in the literary text, thus exploring the emotional meanings and patterns that the analysis of the traditional literary text was unable to make. The research reveals that the character of Shisma, made from the body parts of various characters, becomes the ultimate symbol and a metaphor for the identity split and a mental collapse that the Iraqis feel. The deformity in the novel is linked to the images of chaos, fear and dispiritedness and is closely related to the battlefield. In general, sentimental analysis has shown that deformity is overwhelmingly negatively treated in the text, thereby demonstrating the fruitfulness of the use of experimental texts and AI tools in the field of literary studies.
