The soil cover of the Sazalnikskaya spit is characterized by complexity, complex occurrence and mosaic, caused by a combination of natural conditions (morphology and length of the bedrock shore, age of coastal embankments, influence of the salty Dolgoe Lake and formation of saline soil complexes on its shores, deflation) and anthropogenic impact (fish farming on Dolgoe Lake, grazing, extraction of shell material, soil pollution by sewage and solid domestic waste, over-compaction). Accumulative soil complexes of the Sazalnikskaya spit may include three to five types of soils and soil varieties formed under the influence of a combination of biotic and abiotic factors.
