3D printing technology is also known as Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology. A series of procedures known as 3D printing enables the translation of computer-generated 3D models into real-world products. It involves piling layer upon layer to generate three-dimensional objects. In the fields of healthcare and medicine, 3D printing is regarded as a revolutionary modern technology. As research and development continue, a number of innovative 3D printing technologies have successively evolved. Finding anatomical models, creating the first 3D models based on anatomical photographs, revising initial designs for 3D printing, and deciding on the appropriate printing technique and materials are some of the procedures involved in creating 3D-printed products for medical uses. In response to market demand, 3D printing is used to make small batches of various pharmaceuticals as well as drug-loaded medical devices for clinical uses. A 3D printer is being used to create a range of medical devices and implants to assist patients live better lives. Vat polymerization in conjunction with medical imaging technology allows for the creation of scaffolds for tissue engineering, implants, and surgical instruments customized for each patient. Tissue engineering, and the creation of artificial stents, porous trabecular bones, knee or hip prostheses, and surgical designs are a few sophisticated and modern uses of 3D printers in medicine. Bioprinting, commonly referred to as 3D bioprinting, is the process of replicating body parts such as blood vessels, ligaments, bones, and joints using 3D printing and biomaterials. In addition to these, 3D bioprinting finds use in dentistry, medical device emulation, anatomical model manufacturing, and drug development, research, and formulation. The use of 3D printing in medicine makes it possible to progress toward more individualized treatments. The use of 3D printing technology has opened up new possibilities and medical solutions for the treatment of diabetes.
