Nanotechnology deals with different material characteristics arising from quantum effects, modified electronic traits, and alterations in surface area. Nanotechnology deals with the fabrication of materials from the bottom up and the manipulation of existing structures from the top down, providing a unique perspective on the nature of matter. The merging of nanotechnology and environmental awareness has led to the emergence of ‘green nanotechnology,’ that combines transformative nanotech principles with a dedication to sustainable practices. This unique amalgamation gives priorities to environmentally friendly methodologies, the use of renewable materials, and contribute to the holistic development of our planet. The main objective of this approach is to harness the unique properties of nanomaterials while minimizing potential environmental risks, emphasizing the principles of green chemistry and the reduction of hazardous substances. In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our fragile ecosystems, responsible management of resources, the conservation of biodiversity, and the preservation of ecosystem services are of vital importance. Human intervention can influence ecosystem health, and hence it is crucial to adopt sustainable practices while promoting awareness for responsible environmental safekeeping. This chapter aims to provide insights into the diverse applications of green nanotechnology in achieving ecosystem sustainability, highlighting innovations that address and mitigate environmental impacts. The central objective is to establish a harmonious balance between growing human needs and the preservation of natural ecosystems, offering a comprehensive perspective on integrating nanotechnology into environmental conservation efforts.
