In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economy and technology, various forms and functions of civil buildings have emerged quickly. Some of these buildings have roofs designed for multiple uses, including pedestrian access, vehicular traffic, and planting. For such multifunctional roofs, especially in cold regions, addressing the challenges of insulation and drainage under heavy loads is crucial. This paper examines the structural design process for the bus roof of a comprehensive transfer center at a railway passenger station in Changchun. In order to ensure the safe drainage and service life of the roof structure, it is suggested that the roof structure should adopt inverted roof, double drainage, heavy deformation joint members of road and bridge, etc.
