Chemical kinetics is the study of reaction rates and the factors that influence them. The rate of a chemical reaction is defined as the change in concentration of a reactant or product over time. These rates depend on variables such as temperature, concentration, catalysts, and the physical state of reactants. In many cases, changes in concentration can be related to measurable physical properties. For example, Pressure, Absorbance, Fluorescence, Conductometry, Polarimetry, Surface-enhanced Raman, among others. In this chapter, we will review representative examples from the literature on kinetic studies, focusing on the evaluation of various physical properties used in constructing kinetic profiles, along with the corresponding equations.
