Research on the Influential Factors Over the Formability of Stainless Steel Sheet SUS 304 by Multi-stage Single Point Incremental Forming (MSPIF) Technology
摘要
Although invented more than 50 years ago, Incremental Sheet Forming (ISF), a mold-less metal sheet forming technology that is suitable for small batch production, still has been studied around the world in order to increase its ability of deformation. There are lots of measures to increase the formability of the workpiece sheet, such as Hot Single Point Incremental Forming (hot SPIF), Multi-stage Single Point Incremental Forming (MSPIF). In the paper, we focus on the second method in which there are many technological parameters that influence the forming ability of the sheet products such as the diameter of forming tool (pestle), number of revolutions of the spindle, velocity of center of cruising pestle in the horizontal plane, vertical helical downward depth pitch after each contour, coefficient of friction between sheet and pestle through the surface via lubrication, initial forming angle, and forming angle between stages. In the research, the SUS304 is selected as the workpiece sheet because of its popularity in industry as well as in family utensils and its plastic property. The simulation and experiment processes are applied to the study and discussed in this research.
