A new electronic load sensing system is proposed that combines a fixed displacement hydraulic pump with variable speed and a servo valve. The pump is driven by an inverter motor used for varying flow, and the valve is used to control the pressure of the system. The proposed configuration is suitable for applications where the power of the system changes during its cycle, such as a forming machine. In this study, the system is modeled and simulated, and the performance of the system is evaluated. A SISO adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control controller is designed for position control of the cylinder for tracking a simple pressing cycle. A simple control strategy is also designed for the pump to control the power of the system. Energy saving of the system is statically analyzed while the performance of the system was investigated. The simulation results indicate that the system is well tracking the reference with the uncertainty model parameters and external disturbance.
