The global burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) is significant, often resulting from oxidative stress, inflammation, and endothelial dysfunction. Nutraceuticals, such as omega-3 fatty acids, polyphenols, phytosterols, Coenzyme Q10, and vitamins, have shown promise in preventing and managing cardiovascular toxicity (CVT). These bioactive compounds offer various protective effects, including improved lipid metabolism, reduced oxidative stress, modulation of inflammatory pathways, and enhanced endothelial function. Consumption of nutraceuticals through functional foods or supplements has been linked to a lower risk of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, and other CVD-related conditions. When used alongside lifestyle modifications and standard pharmacological therapies, nutraceuticals could serve as effective adjunct treatments to alleviate CVT. Despite promising findings, further research is needed to determine optimal dosages, long-term effects, and the precise mechanisms through which these compounds deliver cardiovascular benefits. This chapter delves into the current evidence on the role of nutraceuticals in preventing CVT and underscores their potential integration into clinical practice for managing CVDs.
