A Secure and Decentralized EHR System Using Blockchain and IPFS
摘要
The healthcare sector produces enormous data, including the patient’s medical history, treatment, test reports, etc. The same is being shared within the healthcare system among the stakeholders. This data must be kept accurate and secure. Also, it should be kept accessible only to the authorized individuals. The traditional management of healthcare records, being a centralized system, is prone to risks of security concerns. This study addresses the issue of secure storage of healthcare data. It proposes a blockchain based Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for storage and data sharing among the participants while achieving security. In the proposed system, an InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) is used to store the data in a decentralized way while ensuring security. The system considers patients, doctors, and insurers as stakeholders in handling and sharing data.
