This work involves detecting the critical parameters of the target by using FMCW Radar with various signal-processing algorithms. The range and velocity of the targets are detected by using the FFT. The sensor in this work is planned for an azimuthal scanning, and hence the azimuthal angle is known at the time of scanning whereas the elevation angle of the target is detected by using the MUSIC algorithm. The main challenge in the design is that the radar aims to detect the fast-moving target of 1.8 Km/s in a short range of 2 Km. This leads to a Range-Doppler ambiguity which is overcome by using two different waveforms. In normal operation mode, a greater sweep duration waveform is transmitted, and in target detection mode the smaller sweep duration waveform is transmitted for detecting the velocity of the target. The signal processing techniques are briefed and the results of detecting various parameters of the multiple targets are explained in this paper.

摘要
