Several experimental techniques have been designed to optimize the measurement of OAEs. One of the problems is separating the OAE response from non-cochlear artifacts and noise. Another problem is identifying OAEs coming from different mechanisms and/or different cochlear regions, which could have different physiological meaning and diagnostic interpretation. Although this is a problem regarding signal analysis, the acquisition system must be designed in order to allow one to use specific signal analysis techniques, which would require high-frequency resolution.

摘要

Several experimental techniques have been designed to optimize the measurement of OAEs. One of the problems is separating the OAE response from non-cochlear artifacts and noise. Another problem is identifying OAEs coming from different mechanisms and/or different cochlear regions, which could have different physiological meaning and diagnostic interpretation. Although this is a problem regarding signal analysis, the acquisition system must be designed in order to allow one to use specific signal analysis techniques, which would require high-frequency resolution.
