Managed Soils and Agricultural Expansions
摘要
Soil provides more than 90% of food for humankind and delivers priceless benefits like water regulation, recycling, carbon storage and biological control of pests and diseases. The soil´s capacity to sustain plant development in the long term is its most appreciated quality for multiple utilization purposes. However, have we thought about retrieving something to this precious resource in return for all we get? Growing crops and agricultural expansions are not the problem, the problem is the way crops are established and managed. Agriculture can be performed while caring for nature and natural resources. We ought to find a balance.
