The Norse Feedback (NF) is a multidimensional, dynamic, digital self-report tool designed for use in psychotherapy. The defining feature of the NF is its broad set of items and scale content, allowing for the screening and assessment of a wide variety of patients. Its dynamic features allow it to algorithmically adapt to patient responses: it elicits more information on topics that are clinically important to individual patients and spends less time on topics that are unlikely to be relevant. In this chapter, we provide an overview of the NF’s features and generally recommended clinical strategies for using the NF in mental healthcare. We then present a detailed case study of the NF in use during a case of short-term outpatient cognitive-behavioral treatment for generalized anxiety disorder. In the case study, the therapist’s use of the NF illustrates productive collaboration through the initial, middle, and end phases of treatment. Using the NF in this case helped the therapist conceptualize the patient’s concerns in a new way and positively impacted the quality of the therapeutic relationship, contributing to a positive treatment outcome.

摘要
