VI.v STATEMENT: The Importance of First Impressions: Exploring the Hidden Curriculum in Medical Education
摘要
In this essay, I reflect on my first experience of medical education research, including introducing the hidden curriculum as a concept, with examples of how it both positively and negatively affects the professional development of medical students. I consider the key of a positive role model within research, and the importance of a supportive and reliable supervisor. The essay examines how the impact of a supervisor is a prime example of the hidden curriculum in action, and why medical students should be introduced and encouraged to participate in medical education research.
